Creditable 2 or 3 Week International Rotation for 3rd and 4th year medical students: Carefree Foundation aims to bring top quality surgical standards to developing countries in a sustainable way in order to most effectively improve health.
Casa-Nica, an NGO based in Masaya, Nicaragua, has medical volunteer and internship positions open for medical students and physicians. Our program includes volunteer work and Spanish classes. We ask that medical volunteers and interns stay a minimum of one month.
We offer two-week courses and internships in the summer and winter. Our ethnomedicine course looks at traditional healing with plants and its cultural practices. The global health course focuses on one health, tropical diseases and public health in Belize, a developing nation. These are field courses which takes students out of the classroom and into the villages and offices of healthcare providers and policy makers. These courses carry three credit hours transferable with prior approval from your home institution. Our internships are customized to each student's needs are a minimum of four weeks long. Interns live with Belizean families for wonderful cultural immersion.
